O Mein Papa │ Yvann Sangsue

Yvann Sangsue was born in Porrentruy, Switzerland, and started to sing at the age of nine.  To say that his singing is sensational would be an understatement.  I am touched by the sincerity, and honesty in his voice, which is why "O Mein Papa" is such a perfect song for him to sing.  The song was originally composed by Swiss composer  Paul Burkhard in 1939 for a musical called "Der Schwarze Hecht (The Black Pike)".  The song tells the story of a boy who is reminiscing about his dearly departed father, who was a famous clown in the circus.  That explains the clown in the video.  It was translated into English by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons under the title, "Oh! My Pa-Pa".  The American singer, Eddie Fisher, father of actress Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia in Star Wars), recorded the song in 1953, and it became a big hit in the United States.  There is a lot of pathos and drama in Yvann's music video.  It actually feels like a self-contained miniature movie.  Please click on the video widget below for a very moving experience.  Safe journeys to all the fans of Angel Watchers, wherever you may be.
